Brexiteer Boris Johnson is still being labelled a racist in some quarters for describing Barack Obama as “part-Kenyan”.
Among those joining in the confected hysteria are shadow chancellor John McDonnell, backbench Tory MP Nicholas Soames, and Green MP Caroline Lucas.
Mask slips again. Boris part-Kenyan Obama comment is yet another example of dog whistle racism from senior Tories. He should withdraw it.

Just appalling from Boris Johnson. No place in the #EUref debate for this kind of desperate bigotry. https://t.co/eKWJUAi0Xn

In a Sun article published three days ago Johnson wrote: Obama is “part-Kenyan with an ancestral dislike for the British Empire”.
Firstly, Obama is part-Kenyan through his father, who was born in the African country.
That is a fact.
And secondly, Johnson’s perception that Obama has an ancestral dislike for the British Empire has plenty of evidence to support it.
Have McDonnell, Soames or Lucas read Obama’s book Dreams From My Father?
If so, they would see that it is hardly surprising that Obama might feel negatively towards the colonial power which imprisoned his grandfather for six months.
But back to McDonnell and co’s claim that Johnson is a racist.
Johnson’s wife, the distinguished barrister Marina Wheeler QC, is the daughter of the late British journalist Sir Charles Wheeler and Dip Singh, who married in 1962.
This makes Boris Johnson’s wife, whom he married 1993, part-Indian.
Are McDonnell and co seriously suggesting that a white racist man would marry a part-Indian woman?
Of course not.
Because this has nothing to do with race.
This is about the European referendum.
McDonnell, Soames and Lucas desperately want Britain to remain in the European Union, unlike Johnson (and his part-Indian wife) who think Britain should quit the EU.
Therefore, they have invented a slur and jumped up and down about it to cast Johnson in a bad light.
It is truly pathetic, and Soames, as Winston Churchill’s grandson, should be ashamed of himself for siding with McDonnell and Lucas, both of whom represent what passes for the loony left of British politics these days.
