Woke up tearful because a referendum didn’t go your way? Sign a petition!
British voters who love the European Union woke up devastated to find out most of the country does not agree with them.
(Pictured above, the moment Vote Remain realised the result)
But despite being on the losing side in a 52-48 split – behind by more than 1 million votes – they aren’t taking no for an answer.
Weeping liberals and Europhiles flooded Parliament’s official website demanding that MPs overrule the result.
They claim that the 72% turnout – the highest for a nationwide poll in 24 years – shouldn’t count, and that only 75% attendance would have convinced them.
A second petition by Londoners – who voted strongly to stay in the EU – was set up on change.org, demanding that the capital declare itself independent.
Between them the petitions have attracted more than 110,000 signatures – which will result in precisely nothing.
