Harriet Harman and David Cameron went on a Pro-EU tour of a branch of Asda yesterday morning.

Well-known economics guru Ms Harman then claimed, absurdly, that if people vote for Brexit their weekly shopping bill will rise.

The interesting thing about Harman and Cameron – and the factually accurate thing – is that they are cousins by marriage.

According to the late genealogist Hugh Montgomery-Massingberd: “There is a clear link between her and Cameron through her late aunt Elizabeth Harman.
Elizabeth married the prison reformer Frank (the Earl of) Longford and the
Earl’s sister, Lady Julia Pakenham, married Robin Mount, who was the
brother of Cameron’s grandfather, Sir William Mount.”

Confused?

Not as confused as Harman was later when she appeared on the BBC.

She was asked to name the seven most powerful politicians in the EU.

Despite being shown their photographs, she admitted she hadn’t got a clue who they are.

This should tell you all you need to know about Harman and the EU – and about how desperate her cousin, Cameron, must be getting if he is forced to rely on her political savvy.
