Something significant may be going on at the BBC.
At 5 o’clock this afternoon BBC chief Tony Hall sent the following email to all staff:
Dear All,
I’d like us to come together at 10.00am tomorrow. I want to talk about
roles and responsibilities at the top of the organisation – as well as our
priorities.
You’ll be able to watch live on the Ringmain – I know it’s short notice
but what I have to say matters to all of us. I hope you’ll find time to
join in.

Tomorrow morning is going to be one of the busiest of the year in news terms – the Chilcot Report will be published at 11am.
This major event has been in the diary for months, yet just an hour before Hall has an important announcement to make at short notice.
