Julian Assange of Wikileaks has been confirmed publicly by US intelligence to be working with and for Vladimir Putin.
The Department of Homeland Security and the Office of National Intelligence put out a recent, unprecedented joint statement confirming that Russia was behind the Wikileaks hacks.
Yet Trump supporter Rep. Jeff Duncan of South Carolina posted a tweet on Monday morning praising Wikileaks for publishing a Russian hack of America:
Let me be clear: Thank God for Wikileaks – doing the job that MSM WON'T! #ASSANGE #wikileaks

As furious tweeters pointed him at the statements of US intelligence about Julian Assange’s collaboration with Russia, Duncan frantically tried to walk it back:
Not praise for Assange. Thankful info is out there for sure, but never have condoned illegal activity. Maybe if HRC hadn't destroyed emails
— Rep. Jeff Duncan (@RepJeffDuncan) October 17, 2016
The Congressman also whined that people were getting on him for a tweet.
And – MSM Major Networks seem to be in collusion with HRC camp – failing to report on the whole story. But quick to jump on a tweet for sure

But local media and supporters were not buying it:
.@RepJeffDuncan you are condoning illegal activity sponsored by Russia to interfere with our democracy. Think before you tweet.

@RepJeffDuncan sounded like you were praising him with a hashtag and in all caps. Isn't he accused of rape?

@RepJeffDuncan when you praise wikileaks for it you are condoning and encouraging as well as justifying it.
