A pre-school teacher in Texas has been suspended from her post after an investigation was launched into her anti-Semitic remarks on social media, including encouraging people to “kill some Jews”.
Anti-Semitic remarks made online by Nancy Salem, a teacher for 2 year-olds at the the Children’s Courtyard in South Arlington, Texas, surfaced after a secretive campus watchdog group, Canary Mission, exposed her together with another 23 anti-Israel activists at the University of Texas. She’s is now subject to a pending investigation by the pre-school and is suspended from teaching, according to The Algemeiner.
On her now-deleted Twitter account, Salem made numerous derogatory comments about the Jewish people, including replying to a question “How many Jews died in the Holocaust?” with “Not enough…HAHAHAHA.”
In another tweet, she openly suggested murdering Jewish people: “Have a safe trip Lulu. I love you baby girl! See you in 3 weeks! Kiss the Palestine ground for me and kill some jews!”
“How was the copper wire invented. They threw a penny between the two Jews. LOLACHAUST,” she also tweeted.
Since her remarks have been given wider attention, multiple people have complained to the Children’s Courtyard’s Facebook page, urging the school to fire the teacher.
“You have a pre-school teacher Nancy Salem working with little children. She is preaching murder of the Jews. This is not the type of person who should have any contact with children. She should be fired immediately,” wrote Joyce Pustilnik.
“The school is excused for not know what it’s [sic] employee is advocating on social media but will not be excused for not taking action once they know. This must not be downplayed, excused, or rationalized. She needs to lose her job. Who know what she fills those kids’ heads with,” seconded Jeb Bloom.
The school responded, saying: “Our senior management team is working to address this matter. This in no way reflects the views of The Children’s Courtyard. We strive to provide an inclusive environment for all children, families and staff members. We also expect our employees to uphold standards of personal and professional conduct.”
