Theresa May’s first day as Britain’s second female Prime Minister sent Westminster into a frenzy, with a slew of new Cabinet appointments and sackings.
The blistering pace of news and speculation based on who is up and down in the new administration made for one of the most exciting news days in an already-packed few weeks.
But spare a thought for those who found it all a bit much, and have literally shut down:
Is anyone else finding that general despair about politics and stuff is damaging their motivation to get stuff in their own life done?

Reports abounded of leftie young things – mostly freelance creatives – who find being on the wrong side of democracy such a downer that they can hardly go outside any more.
It follows weeks of hysteria over Britain’s vote to leave the EU, which even led to state-funded counselling sessions being laid on for people who couldn’t cope.

#reshuffle Feeling really gloomy & depressed with new cabinet line up & no serious opposition. Looking for ways to leave home ☹️

@AbiWilks Okay, so I've got a 2PM deadline to catch… and I've missed it. Fucking Tories.

It is not clear what the delicate souls thought might happen when one Conservative administration was replaced with another Conservative administration:
I think some Tweeters are genuinely upset that members of the Labour Party haven't been appointed to the cabinet. WHICH TORIES DID YOU WANT?

Though the most fun actually came from a piece of continuity – when Jeremy Hunt was rumoured to be ousted from the Health department:
@bbclaurak Best news so far in the #reshuffle 🙂

…only to be kept on in the position a couple of hours later:
'Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated…' Thrilled to be back in the best job in Government.

Not to worry though, guys – just four more years until the next election.
