Punk legend Johnny Rotten has expressed his support for President Trump and described the chaos surrounding his presidency as a “joy to behold”.

The singer and former frontman of The Sex Pistols attacked liberal media outlets in the United States for trying to “smear” Trump by accusing him of racism and said he believes his leadership of the nation will be a force for good.

Rotten (real name John Lydon) spoke out during an appearance on the Good Morning Britain talk show on Monday:

One journalist once said to me, is he the political Sex Pistol? In a way.

What I dislike is the left-wing media in America are trying to smear the bloke as a racist and that’s completely not true.

There’s many, many problems with him as a human being but he’s not that -and there just might be a chance something good will come out of that situation because he terrifies politicians.

This is joy to behold for me. Dare I say, [he could be] a possible friend.

He also used the appearance to express his support for the United Kingdom’s impending exit from the European Union.

When asked about the historic decision to vote for Brexit he said “the working class has spoke [sic], and I’m one of them I’m with them.”
