A ringleader of London’s Black Lives Matter movement brushed off the recent police murders in Dallas with the words “What do they expect?”.

Gary McFarlane, a far-Left activist, addressed supporters in an emotionally-charged demonstration outside the US Embassy this weekend.

Although he paid lip-service to “not condoning” the gun rampage that left five officers dead, McFarlane claimed their deaths were an inevitable response to concerns about policing in the US.

Heat Street attended the protest, and recorded McFarlane’s inflammatory address:

Speaking to a rowdy gathering in Grosvenor Square on Sunday morning, he said: “No pig went to prison. No wonder people are getting angry, no wonder people are saying ‘an eye for an eye’.

“Of course I don’t condone the killing of the police force. But they keep killing black people. What do they expect people to do?”

He earlier belittled the slain men by referring to them as “so-called law enforcement”, and suggesting they are complicit in “sticking a knife” into black communities.

McFarlane told the crowd: “We are not condoning the shooting down of those so-called law-enforcement officers.

“But again, to quote Malcolm X, when someone sticks a knife in my back nine inches, and pulls it out six inches – they are not doing me a favour – they shouldn’t have put the knife in my back in the first place.”

McFarlane, a prominent member of the Socialist Workers Party, spoke after the gang of protesters marched through central London.

Assembled activists waved banners and chanted the “no justice, no peace, no racist police” and “hands up – don’t shoot” slogans that have become the hallmark of the movement.

Heat Street recorded the most inflammatory parts of the gathering, which lasted around two hours. Gary McFarlane has yet to respond to a request for comment.
