Baa-Baa Brexit – Liz Truss Latest Ridiculous EU Referendum Sheep Industry Scare

Liz Truss is pulling the wool over Britain’s eyes as she says Brexit will be bad for sheep.

Lamb prices could crash and the entire sheep industry would be under threat if the UK vote to leave the European Union in June, Defra Secretary Elizabeth Truss has warned today.

During a visit to meet Cumbrian hill farmers, Mrs Truss claimed tariffs that could be imposed by the EU if the UK leaves could add an additional £155 million to the cost of lamb and mutton exports.

This would make British lamb a less attractive prospect for Europeans compared to New Zealand and Australian competitors, she said.

Liz is surely Baa-king mad – her farming minister George Eustice, for Brexit, dismissed the looney claims, saying that the UK would simply get a new deal after exit – and a better one that protects farmed animals welfare.

Increasingly desperate Liz has already claimed that Brexit would ‘ruin the whisky industry’.

Anything to distract from the fact that DEFRA currently imports 44 of its food at HQ.

That. Is. A Disgrace.
