Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, where President Trump’s son Barron is a fifth-grader, went into lockdown mode temporarily Monday morning after someone reported a suspicious vehicle with “visible military equipment” inside on a nearby street.

The call led to an NYPD Bomb Squad investigation near the Upper West Side school before police deemed the vehicle safe about an hour later. The truck also had a license plate that didn’t match the Vehicle Identification Number.

Safety has been a concern for Barron and his mother, First Lady Melania Trump.  After President Trump’s election in November, Melania opted to live in Trump Tower instead of the White House in order not to force Barron to change schools mid-year.

According to New York City Police Commissioner James O’Neill, the cost of providing security to the Trumps was $308,000 per day between Election Day and the president’s inauguration.

“Trump Tower itself now presents a target to those who wish to commit acts of terror against our country, further straining our limited counterterrorism resources,” O’Neill said in February.

The First Lady has said she plans on moving to the White House at the end of Barron’s school year.
