To up the safety level of locks, Fortified Bicycle created the Invincible Bike. It features puncture-resistant tires, a rust-stopping chain and custom-designed parts. These parts are what make the bike different: the custom locking hardware can’t be tampered with using your average set of tools. That makes it much harder for thieves to take the bike apart.
According to MIT News, Slava Menn co-founded Fortified Bicycle after a friend was hit by a car while on his bike at night. Safety, then, plays a huge role in the way that the company approaches the design of its bike and bike parts. The company also offers individual pieces such as this specially designed U-lock.

With weather-proof and theft-resistant elements, the design of the bike is meant for bikers to be able to worry more about their destination than the safety of their bicycle. As MIT News shares, previous models from the company have been met with much excitement—The Defender, for example, was introduced on Kickstarter where the team reached its fundraising goal in one day.
The team also offers Fortified Theft Protection, which guarantees customers a replacement for any parts that are stolen within one business day. Currently, the Invincible bike is available in single speed from $399 and eight speed from $649.
