For Snapchat users, the honeymoon is over.
The company, whose last full round of fund raising had a valuation of about $17 billion, is making some changes to its advertising strategy to try to live up to the hype. One of the main changes will allow advertisers to promote material in between users’ Snap stories. The ads will not interrupt individual Snap stories, but instead will show up after each friend’s story before the user skips to the next one.
Snapchat users aren’t exactly thrilled about it—and they’re venting on Twitter.
@Snapchat is a total joke. they make you watch an ad every 10sec. What a terrible user experience. abrasive & annoying! Enjoy the ad revenue

$CHAT please don't start advertising in stories. You will lose users just as fast as you gained them. (Snapchat)

Currently Snapchat has around 150 million daily active users, versus an estimated 135 million for Twitter. Facebook has more than a 1 billion daily active users. Snapchat rolled out a redesign last week to provide users easier access to breaking news, trending topics and other featured stories.
