In the age of Taskrabbit and Postmates, if you have enough money you can get away with doing almost nothing for yourself. Including, now, playing Pokemon GO.
For just $20 per hour, a Craigslist poster in Manhattan’s East Village, known as “Golbat-chan,” says she’ll walk around NYC logged into your account and play the game for you. She’ll catch Pokemon, hatch your eggs, stop at every Pokestop and battle at gyms if requested.
Golbat-chan assures us she is a Pokemaster and has locked down all the gyms in her area. She’s armed with portable chargers and in peak Pokemon-catching condition. And if you try any creep stuff, she says she knows how to defend herself (with Pokemon I assume).
If you want to Pokemon GO in style, you can hire even hire a dude in a Mercedes to drive you around the burbs. It’s $15 for 15 minutes, and comes with a free lure!
And if you’re in the market to make money off Pokemon GO, fear not. A “petite” woman in Brooklyn, NY needs muscle. For $50 an hour she’ll pay you to protect her as she traverses the mean streets hunting ‘mons and taking names. She’ll pay extra for protecting her from an actual robbery of course. The position is not gender exclusive. She’s gladly take a “large adult Game of Thrones lady woman.”
UPDATE: Golbat-chan has retired from the Poke training biz. Her newfound fame made her fear retribution from Niantic for violating their terms of service. Sorry folks, you’ll have to get your Pokemon trained elsewhere.
