Misogynistic tweeting isn’t just a man’s world anymore.
The think tank Demos analyzed 10,000 abusive tweets in the UK using the words “slut” and “whore,” in an aggressive manner, and found that almost half of the tweets were from women. The study filtered out casual or self-effacing uses of the words for accuracy.

This data shouldn’t be too surprising to anyone who uses the Internet, as basically everyone gets shitty at one point or another. Just look at the bizarre Twitter rantings of Azaelia Banks, who called for Sarah Palin to be raped.
The rest of the study wasn’t particularly groundbreaking. The data essentially proved that people used hateful words on Twitter frequently. No need to stop the presses, everyone already knows that.
