The “special relationship” between the United States and the United Kingdom has not thrived under President Obama.
The president arrived in London on Friday and, according to a White House statement, presented Queen Elizabeth II with a photo album for her 90th birthday. CNN’s Jake Tapper tweeted out the official statement from the White House.

Notice anything strange?

An editor’s note, perhaps, that somehow slipped through to the final draft? Perhaps a member of the White House press office thought “close friendship” might be a bit overwrought—best to run it by the boss. A Freudian slip, it would seem.
To Obama’s credit, I suppose, a fancy photo album sounds like a much nicer birthday present than an iPod full of Obama’s speeches.
