The video doesn’t lie. Hillary Clinton had a medical episode at Sunday’s 9/11 memorial — she reportedly fainted — and the presidential hopeful appeared to collapse as she was helped into her high-security van during her early exit from the ceremonies:
The media however has been exceedingly anxious to assure that all is well with Secretary Clinton, 68. This comes after weeks of mainstream journalists poo-poo-ing any suggestion that the candidate could be unwell, and dismissing reports of her infirmities as “conspiracy theories” emerging from the “hate machine” of the much-maligned alt-right.
Early on, NBC / MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin was one of the first to Tweet that “NBC News has confirmed” that Secretary Clinton had a “health episode” and has left the 9/11 ceremony. Foley’s Tweet, however, was hastily deleted, perhaps at the behest of his superiors at 30 Rock. Folley then followed up with an explanation:
CNN put a brave face on it.
And then reminded us that she is leading in the polls:
ABC News reports how good she’s feeling.
The New York Times has other things on its mind.
Meanwhile, Twitter and Facebook have kept Clinton’s health out of their trending topics. It’s such a sunny day, anyway.
