The Libertarian Party held its party convention in Orlando, Florida, this past weekend. The party, looking to challenge Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, selected former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson as its nominee, and former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld as his running mate.
Johnson is a strict libertarian: He not only supports a limited government—while in power, he was serious about vetoing and cutting back on state spending. He’s also socially liberal: He backs abortion rights, LGBT rights and marijuana decriminalization—and his ticket is already pulling 10% against the two major parties.
We caught up with Johnson at the Libertarian Party convention.
