President Obama Keeps Saying the War is Over. Over and Over and Over.

President Obama has spent the last several years declaring victory in the war in Afghanistan, pledging to withdraw U.S. troops and bring the conflict “to a responsible end.”

On Wednesday, the president announced that he was planning to keep around 8,400 troops in Afghanistan through the end of his administration, about 3,000 more than originally planned, in response to a resurgent Taliban, which has stepped up its bloody attacks across the country in recent months.
