Earlier this week, police in Hillsborough County, Florida, found graffiti in multiple locations, reading “BLM,” “Black Lives Matter,” and “Kill White People,” according to local news reports.

One resident, Stacy Hatfield, found a Trump sign in her front yard painted over, as well as messages spray-painted on her home:

“Yeah I’m pissed off, very pissed, because this just ruined our paint job and it makes our neighborhood look like trash now.

Vandalism, they got nerve to come and do that. We didn’t know we was discriminating [against] anybody. Obviously we offended somebody.”

Police don’t know who is responsible for the vandalism. Black Lives Matter protests have been ongoing in the area — though, it’s also possible these acts were committed in order to tarnish the reputation of the protest group.

County workers were dispatched to paint over the phrases.
