The media is accusing Donald Trump of sexism for repeatedly “mansplaining” and “manterrupting” during Monday night’s debate against Hillary Clinton.
Trump, who behaved much like he did during the Republican primary debates, routinely butted in as Hillary spoke. He also interrupted debate moderator Lester Holt on numerous occasions.
The crucial Vox.com analysis of the debate centered on Trump’s refusal to let the “highly prepared” Hillary Clinton speak without interruption.
They even included a cute graphic showing how often Clinton was interrupted by men.
Some people noted that accusing Trump of being a particularly sexist jerk — as opposed to a jerk in general — for repeatedly interrupting his opponent on the debate stage ignores the fact that Trump did exactly the same thing during the Republican primary debates, when almost all of his opponents were men.
The Vox graphic also highlights the fact that moderator Lester Holt, whose performance was criticized by Clinton supporters and Trump fans alike, interrupted Trump far more often than he interrupted Clinton.
