Donald Trump is praising Vladimir Putin again, and raising doubts about whether, as president, he would honor the terms of the NATO treaty to defend member countries against Russian aggression.
“He’s been complimentary of me,” Trump told the New York Times. “I think Putin and I will get along very well.”
It is unclear if Trump’s friendly attitude toward Putin is the result of some pro-Russian ideology or just a burning desire to make Putin think he’s cool. For example:
