Edward Ivari, the hair guru allegedly behind the thing that sits on top of Donald Trump’s head has initiated legal action against Gawker Media over a lengthy investigative report suggesting (rather convincingly) that Ivari’s hair clinic was responsible for Trump’s expensive weave, or “cotton candy hairspray labyrinth.”
In an intriguing twist, Ivari has hired Charles J. Harder, the lawyer at the center of Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel’s (until recently) secret plan to destroy Gawker. Harder represented wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan in his successful sextape lawsuit against Gawker Media, which had to file for bankruptcy protection as a result of the $140 million judgement in Hogan’s favor. Harder is also representing two other clients suing Gawker — a woman writer embroiled in a very complicated saga regarding Tinder; and a man who claims he invented e-mail.
Thiel has admitted funding Hogan’s lawsuit against Gawker, and Gawker executives believe he is funding the other two lawsuits as well.
