Jason Miller, the former communications adviser to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign who abruptly resigned from his role in the presidential transition team, has joined Teneo Strategy, the global consulting firm founded by form Bill Clinton aide Doug Band.
Axios reported Friday that Miller will start his new gig next week, and will be based in Washington, D.C. Teneo provides crisis communications consulting for large corporations and other shady actors, such as FIFA, the scandal-plagued soccer federation.
Teneo has come under scrutiny after it was discovered that longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin was hired by the firm during Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state. Emails published by WikiLeaks show that Band contacted Abedin on several occasion during this period, and asked her to perform “favors” for Teneo clients.
Band’s name appeared in some of the most colorful WikiLeaks emails. For example, he once referred to former first daughter Chelsea Clinton as a “spoiled brat,” and a backstabber just like her parents. In one email, Band described how Bill and Chelsea Clinton had nearly driven a Clinton Foundation employee to commit suicide. In another email published by WikiLeaks, Band appeared to suggest that Chelsea used Clinton Foundation money to pay for her lavish wedding to failed hedge fund manager Marc Mezvinsky.
