Susan Sarandon Won’t Back Hillary Clinton: ‘I Don’t Vote with My Vagina’

Hollywood legend Susan Sarandon won’t support Hillary Clinton just because of her gender. “I don’t vote with my vagina,” she told the BBC on Friday.

“I want the right woman,” said Sarandon, who supported Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary, and has suggested that Hillary might be more dangerous than Donald Trump because of her neocon foreign policy.

The actress pointed out to her British interviewer that the UK has already had two female prime ministers (both members of the Conservative Party). “I didn’t know how you felt about that, but I don’t vote with my vagina,” Sarandon said. “This is bigger than that.”

Sarandon has been strongly critical of Hillary’s positions on the environment and military invasions. “I am worried about the wars,” she said. “I’m worried about fracking. I’m worried about the environment. No matter who gets in they don’t address these things because money has taken over our system.”

Earlier this week, Sarandon announced that she planned to vote for Green Party nominee Jill Stein.

Sarandon has raged against the Democratic Party establishment for months, and accused party official of a “disgusting” scheme to rig the primary to ensure that Hillary won the nomination over Sanders.

On Thursday, the actress accused the Democratic National Committee of being “completely corrupt,” and called for the establishment of a “progressive party.”
