Television networks reporting on the Republican convention in Cleveland this week have struggled to avoid getting trolled by convention attendees.
Because most of the networks are shooting live from the streets of Cleveland, their sets have become ground zero for trolls looking to get their clever signs on the air. They’re not in Manhattan anymore.
A recent CNN panel discussion, for example, involved some awkward camera work in an effort to crop out a guy holding a “Clinton News Network” sign in the background. Similar hijinks have been befallen the super serious media all week.
