President Trump’s White House Aides are Still Using Personal Email Accounts

Donald Trump hammered away at Hillary Clinton during the campaign for using a personal email server during her time at the State Department, potentially exposing classified information to anyone who could hack her unsecured setup.

But as President Trump’s own aides move into the West Wing, where they will come into contact with top level strategy and important information not widely available, they are still using their own personal emails—because officials have yet to set them up with their new White House emails.

According to POLITICO, the Trump transition into their new digs has been rocky at best, and White House press wranglers, under the direction of Press Secretary Sean Spicer, were overlooked when the West Wing’s tech crew set up slots on the exchange server. So since starting work on Friday, they’ve been using their personal email addresses.

Even Sean Spicer has had to jerry-rig his own contact system, using Twitter to spread Trump’s daily public schedule to members of the media, rather than emailing them directly.

Fortunately for Trump, while the press team might have exclusive information, its probably not likely they would handle classified documents. But if the system is disorganized enough to omit an entire team of people—most of whom rely on email almost exclusively—its easy to believe there might be other oversights.
