President Trump Cuts Out Fast Food From Diet, Succumbs to The Swamp

Some accuse President Trump of betraying his working-class supporters when they mention the number of billionaires and former bankers in his Cabinet.  Nonsense! Trump cozying up to America’s financial oligarchy simply reflects his desire to appoint only the best and brightest; it’s not his fault that they all happen to be extremely wealthy and work for one particular investment bank.

The real scandal came this morning when Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin dropped the following bomb: Trump no longer eats Kentucky Friend Chicken or McDonald’s. Apparently the private chef’s food at the White House is “great.”

For when you gaze long enough into The Swamp, The Swamp gazes back into you.

Don’t you understand, Mr. President? Practically nothing in this country is great — except fast food.  That’s why the people elected you.  The populist appeal of your campaign was largely predicated upon you shoving deep-fried junk down your gullet and giving the middle-finger to bourgeois food critics.

No one thought a man could eat a bucket of fried chicken in a private jet and command respect.  And yet you did.

Hillary Clinton offered a vision of this country that included federally-subsidized kale for snacks after our mandatory estrogen injections. You offered big walls and Big Macs.

Never mind Mnuchin’s other creepy comments like how he said Trump has “got perfect genes,” or that “we should look at putting President Trump on the thousand dollar bill,” Trump’s duplicity on this issue shouldn’t go unnoticed.

America’s children suffered under eight years of Michelle Obama’s tyrannical school lunch program, leaving millions malnourished and hungry. We didn’t get hope and change.  We got broccoli and exercise.

There’s a lot of noise in the mainstream media about petty things like healthcare reform, the future of Paul Ryan’s political career, or whether Congress’s constant inability to effectively legislate will lead to a crisis of confidence in American governance.  Ignore them.  President Barack Hussein Obama sought to fundamentally transform our nation. With his latest diet change, I now fear Trump will soon finish the job.
