Poll: 71% of Democrats Think Hillary Clinton Should Keep Running Even If She’s Indicted

More than two-thirds of Democratic voters think Hillary Clinton should keep running for president even if she’s indicted on felony charges stemming from her unauthorized use of a private email server as secretary of state.

According to a recent Rasmussen poll, 71 percent of Democrats said they thought Hillary should stay in the race if indicted, compared to just 30 percent of Republicans and 46 percent of independent voters.

In total, half of those surveyed said they didn’t think Clinton should drop out if the Department of Justice moves to indict her after the FBI concludes its investigation into her email practices.

At least one Democratic voter, law professor and former Justice Department official Dan Metcalfe, would like to vote for Hillary but, given the available evidence, thinks “it is difficult to imagine her not being indicted.”
