Hillary Clinton’s “medical episode” may not begin to affect her Presidential polling numbers until at least the end of this week, but a quick POLITICO/Morning Consult poll found that at least half of all Americans think Clinton has lied about her health.

Only about 40% of people say that Donald Trump, who will reportedly release the results of his annual physical on an episode of the Dr. Oz show (after originally saying he wouldn’t), is hiding information about his health.

Fortunately for Clinton, only about 40% of people think her health problems would negatively impact her ability to do her job, and only 30% think she’s likely to die in office within four years of being elected.

But that doesn’t mean Clinton shouldn’t be concerned about forthcoming Presidential polls. Theories about Hillary’s ill health have been bouncing around among conspiracy theorists for a while, but thanks to her near-collapse at Ground Zero on Sunday, the story has reached full public penetration. Nearly 80% of people said they’d heard at least something about Clinton’s medical troubles.

Also not comforting, voters said they would prefer Mike Pence in office if both of the Presidential candidates were to kick the bucket sometime in the next few weeks. He runs slightly ahead of Tim Kaine as the preferred “Vice President President.”

According to a DC pollster who spoke to Heat Street, whether Clinton’s health has had any impact on the voting public — or their likelihood to support her in the upcoming election — won’t show up in major polls until early next week. But the pollsters expect the impact to be significant, “at least 2 to 3 percent.”

With national polls as close as they currently are, that could easily put Donald Trump into the lead, a proposition that can’t possibly make the Democratic National Committee, already seemingly in panic mode, very happy.
