Even as Donald Trump appears to have wrapped up the Republican Party nomination for president, world leaders have been slow to get behind the real estate mogul. But now he can claim the support of at least one foreign ruler: North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un.
An editorial published in the official North Korean state media outlet has endorsed Donald Trump in the 2016 election, describing the demagogue as a “wise politician” and a “far-sighted presidential candidate.”
The author of the piece, Han Yong Mook, a self-described Chinese North Korean scholar, referenced Trump’s previous claim that he would withdraw American troops from the Korean peninsula if South Korea did not increase its defense spending. Han writes that in contrast to “dull Hillary,” Trump’s willingness to break from conventional U.S. policy towards North Korea could potentially serve to unite the peninsula after over 60 years of conflict.
