Michael Moore has announced a boycott of any newspapers and journalistic publications that refuse to call Donald Trump a liar, and he wants others to join him. Best known for his liberal documentaries, the long-time Democrat has been critical of President Trump and now he’s focusing his ire on the Fourth Estate.

Moore, who was a vocal presence at the recent Women’s March on Washington DC this past week, sounded a call to boycott the press for not calling Trump a “liar.” The film director made various efforts to prevent the inauguration following the election. And when that failed, he called for a “100 days of protest” against Trump.

In a series of tweets, the liberal filmmaker took Trump to task for claiming he won the popular vote, and called for the result of the election to be voided.

“Trump claims he won the popular vote & 3 million votes for Hillary were fake,” he wrote. “So clearly the election must be voided and redone. Let’s do that!”

The President made his comments about the popular vote to members of Congress, which was later relayed by White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer that this was something Trump believed.

Moore, who took the time to complain about the lack of black directors nominated for an Oscar, says that only The New York Times used the word “lie.”

“The word is ‘lie,’” he wrote. “Only the New York Times had the integrity to put that in a headline yesterday when referring to what Trump said.”

“If you won’t use the true word to describe what Trump says — “lie” — then I don’t want to read your paper or watch your newscast,” wrote Moore.

The director also highlighted the “birther” conspiracy theory that Trump promoted back in 2012 during his opposition to former President Obama, which claimed that Obama was born in Kenya and thus ineligible to have a seat in the highest office.

There’s no question that his effort to get others to ignore the press will fail miserably, but it’s kind of amusing to watch him flail helplessly against the tide. After all, no one even bothered to watch his documentary, TrumpLand.
