EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: TRUMP’S MODELS IN THEIR OWN WORDS
Beauty writes its own rules. American companies should hire Americans first, argues the official “Positions” section of Donald Trump’s campaign website. Yet one of Mr. Trump’s longtime companies, Trump Models, is dominated by workers not born in the U.S. During the most recent New York Fashion Week we spoke to some of the women represented by Trump.
“With 92 million Americans outside the workforce and incomes collapsing, we need companies to hire from the domestic pool of unemployed. Petitions for workers should be mailed to the unemployment office, not the USCIS,” which is the Immigration Service, says Mr. Trump’s website.
Will Mr. Trump’s modeling agency stop representing women from other countries? Is he having trouble finding enough attractive women in the US?
And remember that the criticism from former rival Marco Rubio that a subcontractor for Trump hired Polish workers many years ago? Well, Trump Models is still dipping into the Polish talent pool. The company’s website recently trumpeted the arrival of a striking new model with the headline: “We are excited to introduce our stunning new face Marta Dow from Poland.” Welcome to the party, Marta.
Not all of the models featured in this video, which was produced by Heat Street in partnership with FreeMedia, are represented by Trump Models.
