Evan McMullin has worked for House Republicans, Goldman Sachs, the CIA, and as a deckhand on a commercial fishing boat. As of this week, he is running for president as an independent candidate in an effort to appeal to voters who see both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump “as symbols of corruption and excess that provide no hope of basic competence in the federal government.”

Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, on the other hand, has been trying to field a third-party candidate to challenge Trump for months, so he’s pretty pleased.
