Hillary Clinton gave an unpaid speech at the Democratic convention on Thursday, and made the case for why voters should elect her “First Mom” of the United States.
The media reviews of Clinton’s “historic” speech were, for the most part, fawningly positive. Here’s a taste:

I'm watching the convention, and I'll say only this:
I did not realize how much this moment meant to me as a woman until right now.

Even the negative reviews of the speech itself were paired with a generally positive assessment of the Democratic convention.

Hillary didn't give a great speech. But I far prefer a strained, sane speaker to a charismatic unstable egomaniac.

And even if Hillary’s speech was bad, that’s actually a good thing. In case you were wondering.
EXACTLY: Hillary Clinton is bad at speeches for the exact reasons she'd be a good president https://t.co/HBDa4bP1nm by @mattyglesias

Donald Trump, for his part, did not enjoy “Crooked” Hillary’s speech. He said as much on Twitter.
Crooked Hillary Clinton mentioned me 22 times in her very long and very boring speech. Many of her statements were lies and fabrications!

Crooked Hillary said that I "couldn't handle the rough and tumble of a political campaign." Really,I just beat 16 people and am beating her!
