Little Marco Rubio Goes All In for Donald Trump

Marco Rubio, who called Donald Trump too “dangerous” and “erratic” to be president during the GOP primary, is now offering his unambiguous support for the billionaire reality star.

“We have got to come together as a party; we cannot lose to Hillary Clinton,” Rubio said at a campaign stop in Sarasota over the weekend. “We cannot lose the White House. We have to make sure that Donald wins this election.”

Rubio has already (and somewhat timidly) endorsed Trump, but has been shy about actively campaigning for the GOP nominee. Not anymore, it would seem.

Rubio did not attend the Republican convention in Cleveland, opting to send a brief pre-taped message instead. He mentioned Trump’s name just twice.

“After a long and spirited primary, the time for fighting each other is over,” the Florida senator said. “It’s time to come together and fight for a new direction for America.”

Rubio, who is currently running for reelection despite pledging not to, had some pretty harsh words for Trump while running against him in the GOP presidential primary.

In addition to cracking jokes about Trump’s hand-size and manhood, Rubio said Trump was a “con artist” who was “wholly unprepared to be president of the United States.”

Trump responded by giving Rubio an array of demeaning nickname, including “Little Marco,” “Lightweight Marco,” and “Mr. Meltdown,” among others.
