UPDATE, 11:15am: Lindsay Lohan has deleted the Tweets and Instagram videos from her Brexit coverage but has not issued any statement denying responsibility for them. The rest of her accounts remain intact. Her Tweets are still available below.

As Americans eagerly watched the Brexit vote come through Thursday night, they might have gotten their best taste of British politics from a very familiar, if unexpected, place: troubled child star and current expatriate Lindsay Lohan.
We do not know for certain whether it’s really the Mean Girls star behind the keyboard, but if it is, we’ve definitely seen a whole new—financially literate, politically clued-in, expert at British geography—side of her.
And it was probably the best thing that happened all night.
She was profound and philosophical (kind of).

She was quite concerned with the performance of the Pound in international markets, and how long the Pound might take to recover from an exit from the EU.

She also seemed incredibly concerned for the well-being of average, everyday UK residents:

She even took on former London mayor and Brexit activist Boris Johnson.

And she referenced past British leaders.

She even took the media to task for their coverage (or lack thereof).

Referenced her body of work.

And marshaled her American followers to heed her learned advice in the November election.

Lohan supplemented her reporting with explanatory Instagram videos and election information for those who might still be in line to vote. If she wasn’t hacked—and right now, that’s a big “if”—it’s a wonder the BBC hasn’t already hired her as a dedicated commentator.
