Lena Dunham, a “woke” celebrity idolized by millions of millennials, used social media to voice her opinion on President Donald Trump’s recent executive order banning refugees from certain countries.
“We want you,” Dunham wrote on her Instagram account. “We love you. He does not speak for us. This land is your land.” Accompanying the post was a photo of a welcome mat.
Many liberals and members of the media have expressed concern about President Trump’s new immigration policies. Even some Republican lawmakers have criticized the executive order banning refugees and other individuals from certain Muslim-majority countries, such as Iraq, Iran and Syria.
Dunham, who campaign on behalf of Hillary Clinton during the election, has struggled to cope with Trump’s victory. On Christmas Eve, she posted a photo of herself crawling on the beach dressed up as a topless mermaid.
While attempting to seek solace in the Arizona wilderness after the election, Dunham reportedly developed a “psychotic” obsession with magic crystals, and became unusually excited about photographs of dogs forced to pose with crystals on their heads.
