Katie McGinty, the Democratic Party’s candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, called her GOP opponent Pat Toomey an “asshole” during a union event in Philadelphia, site of the Democratic convention.
McGinty said Toomey, the incumbent senator, was “an asshole, dammit,” while address members of the Communications Workers for America on Monday.
The candidate, who served as an environmental adviser to President Bill Clinton, has been endorsed by Hillary Clinton and President Obama, and is scheduled to speak at the Democratic convention on Thursday night.
McGinty is hardly the only Democrat guilty of abusing her political adversary with harsh terms that could be described as “bullying” in nature. Elizabeth Warren, for example, regularly bullies her opponents on the internet, which can be even more toxic form of bullying, according to experts.
