Donald Trump has repeatedly stated his admiration for Vladimir Putin and his desire for a better relationship with Russia. Yesterday, he hinted at what a major priority that would be for him as president, saying he may schedule a “wonderful” face-to-face meeting with the Russian president even before his inauguration.
“If I win on Nov. 8, I could see my self meeting with Putin and meeting with Russia prior to the start of the administration,” Trump told conservative talk radio host Michael Savage.
Trump blamed the Obama administration for the growing rift with Russia, saying the relationship was at its worst since the Cold War. “They insult him constantly,” Trump said. “I mean, no wonder he can’t stand Obama and Hillary Clinton.”
Trump’s latest comments come amid increasing concern that Russia is attempting to influence the presidential election. Both the Democratic National Convention and U.S. intelligence agencies have linked Moscow to leaked correspondence with potential to damage Clinton.
Do you think Putin will be going to The Miss Universe Pageant in November in Moscow – if so, will he become my new best friend?
