Thanks to former Congressman Anthony Weiner’s roving — ahem — wiener, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton found herself in hot water ahead of Election Day. So now, it seems, he’ll spend the next few weeks learning how to control his compulsion to show his junk to random women on social media.
The 52-year-old Weiner has reportedly checked into a rehab center for sex addiction. The center, according to the Daily Mail, helps treat those struggling with everything from exhibitionism to cybersex, addictions to anonymous sexual encounters and pornography.
And he can’t connect to the Internet or use an electronic device while under treatment — which should keep him from anything embarrassing until the election is over.
Weiner, whose wife Huma Abedin is Clinton’s closest confidante, has been caught in several sexting scandals, the first of which cost him his congressional seat in 2011. In 2013, while running for mayor of New York — a campaign that was supposed to help Clinton identify and begin courting major NYC donors in advance of her second Presidential run — Weiner was discovered to be trading scantily clad photos with a Democratic staffer named Sydney Leathers.
In August, the New York Post reported that Weiner was sexting yet again — and this time, he was sending racy photos that showed his young son in the background. In September, he was found to have sexted with an underaged girl, the final straw for Abedin, who separated from him — and the final straw for the FBI, who launched a full-scale investigation.
That investigation led to the discovery of a laptop, apparently shared by Weiner and Abedin, that contained more than 650,000 emails sent to private email addresses while Hillary Clinton was serving as Secretary of State.
Huma Abedin is now, reportedly, the focus of a renewed FBI investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server. And despite 20 years of service, she seems to have been sidelined from Clinton’s campaign.
