There is no ground more hallowed and sacred in American society than the Apple Store. A modern day sanctuary from the evils without, it offers men and women a safe space to buy the latest and hottest tech.
But sanctuary no more. The embattled White House press secretary, Sean Spicer, was accosted by an angry woman Sunday evening as he shopped at an Apple Store in Washington DC.
“How does it feel to work for a fascist?” the woman yelled at Spicer. “Have you helped with the Russia stuff? Are you a criminal as well? Have you committed treason too, just like the president?”
Spicer’s interrogator, a 33-year-old Indian-American woman named Shree Chauhan, filmed the entire encounter on Periscope.
“Such a great country that allows you to be here,” Spicer replied to her.
Writing about the encounter for Medium, Chuahan now contends that Spicer’s comment to her was racist.
