A mischievous graffiti artist has covered a swimsuit-clad mural of Hillary Clinton in a niqab to thwart attempts to cover it up for being “offensive”.
Lushsux, an Australian painter, covered a towering, buxom reimagining of the Democratic candidate with black in a bid to outmaneuver pearl-clutching local officials:
(Here’s what it looked like before:)
The drawing, painted on the side of a building in Melbourne, sparked a flurry of complaints – and got Lushsux banned from Instagram.
The image is in the vein of the viral Donald Trump micropenis image by U.S. painter Illma Gore, which Heat Street covered when it first pissed of The Donald in April (TRIGGER WARNING NUDE TRUMP):
Lushsux has also posted his own homage to Gore’s piece just across town from his good-time Hillary:
Despite both Donalds being fully nude, and Hillary being clothed, the depiction of a raunchy female has provoked a much stronger backlash.
Busybodies working for the local Maribyrnong Council sent a whining missive to the artist, deeming Hillary “offensive”, and demanding that the building owner take it down:
They also insisted that it was Lushsux’s treatment of the female body – rather than Clinton specifically – that was behind their heavy-handed decision.
As a result, Lushsux decided to wrong-foot the authorities by covering everything except Hillary’s eyes in black.
Describing Hillary Mk II as a “beautiful Muslim woman”, he pre-emptively accused anybody who objects of being a “sexist, racist, Islamophobic, xenophobic, uncultured and ignorant bigot”.
Aussie bureaucrats are now seemingly stuck between a rock and a hard place.
One option is to give in and leave the satire on Hillary there for all to see.
Alternatively, they can ditch their former reasoning and have her scrubbed anyway – leading to the joint accusation of hypocrisy and somehow finding a woman in religious clothing “offensive”.
