Hillary Clinton came out of the woods last week for an appearance on Capitol Hill, where supporters greeted her in tears. The two-time presidential loser was in our nation’s Capitol to honor retiring Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, who at age 77 probably should have retired years ago.
Clinton used the occasion to express grave concern about the “epidemic of fake news” infecting our social media platforms. Many of her supporters insist that an increasing prevalence of false stories on Facebook and other social networks contributed to her embarrassing defeat in the election.
“It’s now clear that so-called fake news can have real-world consequences,” Clinton said. “This isn’t about politics or partisanship. Lives are at risk, lives of ordinary people just trying to go about their days to do their jobs, contribute to their communities.”
As you’re probably aware, Hillary Clinton has a long history of disseminating “fake news” of her own. It’s probably a good idea for her to stay in the woods a little while longer.
