Hillary Clinton: Criminal Indictment “Not Going to Happen”

Hillary Clinton is confident that Republicans will never realize their “fantasy” of watching her be marched away in handcuffs.

In an interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer on the Today show, Hillary said the FBI’s “security review”—actually a criminal investigation—into the potential mishandling of classified information via the private email server she used as secretary of state would not lead to a criminal indictment.

“There is not even the remotest chance that is going to happen,” Hillary said after a good laugh. She went on to suggest that the investigation was just another aspect of the Republican Party’s multi-decade effort to smear the otherwise untarnished Clinton brand.

Interestingly, it was Lauer who interviewed then-first lady Hillary Clinton at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal in 1998, when she famously coined the term “vast right-wing conspiracy” in an effort to dismiss the accusation against her husband.
