Hillary Clinton tried to empathize with American voters who are disgusted with the 2016 election while speaking at fundraiser in San Francisco on Thursday.

“Believe me, I get it,” Clinton told the audience. “In the last few weeks I’ve watched a lot of cats do a lot of weird and interesting things. But we have a job to do and it’ll be good for people and for cats.”

Clinton argued that Donald Trump has soured voters on the 2016 campaign, when in fact most voters hate this election because they really don’t either major party nominee.

“It makes you want to turn off the news,” she said of Trump’s antics. “It makes you want to unplug the internet or just look at cat GIFs.”

This is almost certainly a lie. Hillary probably had to be coached by some poor millennial staffer about what a GIF is and why young people spend so much of their free time watching GIFs of cats and why everything is terrible.

Anyway, you should watch our video montage of cute creatures (above), because this really is the worst election ever.

Here’s an old photo of Hillary watching Bill hold a cat.
