Gary Johnson ‘Common Sense’ Book To Be Published Next Month

In addition to selling his vision to America, Libertarian Party presidential candidate Gary Johnson will soon be selling a brand new book.

Common Sense for the Common Good: Libertarianism as the End of Two-Party Tyranny  will be released September 27, 2016 as an e-book original by Broadside, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.

In the spring of 2017, Broadside will also publish an expanded, hardcover edition. Benefiting from widespread disillusionment with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, Johnson’s support stands around at 10% in the polls.

Johnson also published a book when he ran for the Presidency in 2012. Just as his slogans have been snappier this time around (his latest ad states: “One candidate offends everyone … the other will say anything to get elected”), Common Sense for the Common Good is a much better title than Seven Principles of Good Government.

Gary Johnson said in a statement: “In Common Sense for the Common Good: Libertarianism as the End of Two-Party Tyranny, I examined the current state of affairs and look at the root causes that have brought the two-party system to crisis. … I also want to share my political history and evolution.”

Adam Bellow, editorial director of Broadside Books, said, “We are thrilled to publish Gary Johnson’s e-book. His argument that only someone outside of the two majority parties can bridge the partisan divide and actually get things done is an important one, especially in the current political environment.”

Lisa Sharkey, HarperCollins Senior VP/Director, Creative Development, said: “Gary Johnson is one of the most interesting men in America today. … As a one-time entrepreneur, a two-time border state governor and a third-party candidate for President of the United States, his views on what’s wrong with our current political climate and his solutions for how to remedy our problems are timely and important.”

The book is available to pre-order via Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
