A Republican field office in North Carolina was firebombed and vandalized with Nazi graffiti over the weekend. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump offered their takes on social media.
The attack on the Orange County HQ @NCGOP office is horrific and unacceptable. Very grateful that everyone is safe.

Animals representing Hillary Clinton and Dems in North Carolina just firebombed our office in Orange County because we are winning @NCGOP

Some Democrats thought the were doing the right thing when they tried to put partisanship aside and organized a Go Fund Me campaign to raise enough money to reopen the GOP office that was bombed.
“No matter the result, this is not how Americans resolve their differences,” read a message on the fundraising website. “We talk, we argue, sometimes we march, and most of all we vote. We do not resort to violence by individuals or by mobs.”
NC Repub office fire-bombed. Horrible msg painted on wall. Dems, let's go high and kick in to re-open that office! https://t.co/ACDF1xvNY0

I just gave to this effort by Democrats to help get Orange County GOP HQ reopened – help regardless of party https://t.co/DMyGWRHQEp

The campaign was successful, raising more than $10,000 in less than an hour. The result was cheered by organizers, who thought they were doing a good thing.
GOAL MET! It took less than 40 non-partisan mins to raise $10,000 to re-open firebombed Repub office. A thirst for civility & democracy!

However, not everyone was happy about the “non-partisan” fundraising effort. They were plenty of critics who were outraged that these Democrats had just done a thing that was NOT good. Some accused the non-partisan fundraising of supporting “fascism” by giving money to the Republican Party.
"what did you do to fight fascism?"

4 hrs to crowdfund firebombed Trump office? A lot of liberals for whom maintaining illusion of civility more important than fighting fascism

.@dweinberger this is how liberals fight fascism. By funding it.
