Fidel Castro, the communist dictator of Cuba and serial violator of human rights, finally kicked the bucket last week. Millions of Cubans who had suffered under Castro rejoiced, while many liberal pundits and politicians showered the bearded corpse with praise.
Left-wing heart-throb Justin Trudeau, the prime minster of Canada, a country best known from bordering America, embarrassed himself by committing what one commentator described as an act of “necrophilia” upon the deceased strongman.

The boyish Canadian leader hailed Castro as a “legendary revolutionary and orator” in an effusive love letter that was widely mocked online.
Trudeau was hardly alone. Liberal thoughts leaders from across the country and around the world eulogized the communist tyrant as a “fiery apostle,” a “spiritual beacon,” and “charismatic icon,” among other colorful descriptions.
The language used to describe Castro stood in marked contrast to they way most liberals have spoken about U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who has repeatedly been described as a “dangerous” “fascist” whose policies have the potential to ruin America they way Castro’s policies actually ruined Cuba.
