Elizabeth Warren may have been left out of the Presidential election, but if one small time publisher has its way, she may be the next blockbuster superhero.
Kind of.
Oregon-based publishers Storm Entertainment has a series of comic books celebrating the lives of notable women, including Madonna, Sarah Palin, Nancy Reagan, Michelle Obama and Tina Fey, and they’ve chosen Sen. Elizabeth Warren as their next “powerful female” subject.
Talking to Yahoo News, the publisher, Darren Davis, outlined the rationale behind picking the liberal Massachusetts Senator : “She’s a woman that has it all. She has the family. She has the career. She has a strong work ethic…We thought she had a really strong story.”
Of course, when Elizabeth Warren is the hero of your story, she’ll be wearing a sensible suit, a pair of flat shoes and a bowl haircut instead of the usual Spandex suit and tights (not that anyone is probably scrambling for that, anyway).
And instead of taking on alien creatures, Warren will take on her own breed of super villain: Wall Street bankers. Superman is probably envious; those dastardly Wall Street bankers are probably a lot easier to handle, considering they spend most of their time in offices instead of super-secret undersea lairs building weather-control machines.
The books will, in reality, chronicle Elizabeth Warren’s rise from “hardscrabble” beginnings in rural Oklahoma, to her time as a U.S. Senator. They are not releasing details of the 22-page book ahead of its launch, however, so we won’t know for sure whether they’ll include her Native American roots, her stint as a “minority” law professor at Harvard, or the lucrative real estate investments that have earned her a solid place in the 1%.
